The effects of these reactions on the composition and phase evolution at the interface were systematically examined. Furthermore, the influence of FeO content and varying heat treatment temperature on the interfacial behavior between complex oxides and the Si-Mn deoxidized steel substrate was explored. The results indicate that, regardless of the initial FeO content in the oxide phase of the diffusion couples, precipitates consisting of SiO2 and a small amount of MnO formed in the steel matrix after heat treatment. Near the interface, a dark phase with a high SiO2 content precipitated in the oxide. The widths of the manganese-depleted zone (MDZ) and the particle precipitation zone (PPZ) were found to be approximately linearly correlated. Compared with the FeO-free system, diffusion couples containing 3 wt% FeO exhibited broader MDZ and PPZ in the steel matrix after heat treatment. The maximum widths of both the MDZ and PPZ were observed under the heat treatment condition of 1373 K for 10 hours.
